A woman with long black hair sitting on a light beige sofa in a room with a white wall. She is wearing a black top and tan pants, smiling at the camera. There are three small wooden shelves with white vases and plants on the wall behind her, and a large green plant on the right side of the image.

Welcome! I am so glad that you are here.

Life is often full of surprises, ups and downs, and unexpected challenges. In times of struggles and uncertainties, it takes a tremendous amount of courage and strength to reach out for help and experience positive transformation.

As a first generation Chinese American, I experienced first-hand the challenges of relational brokenness and intergenerational trauma. Through my own healing journey, I had to unpack the roots of my inner critic and learn how to cultivate a healthier relationship with myself and others.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, which has deepened my commitment to creating a compassionate space where healing can happen. It is my hope that we can collaborate and work through the pains of life and create a life that you have envisioned.

Clinical Approaches & Specialties

In my clinical work, I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, unresolved emotional injuries, AAPI/BIPOC mental health, intergenerational and relational trauma.

I approach my clinical work through an attachment-based and trauma-informed framework. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) in my clinical work and tailor my treatment to each person’s unique journey.

In our sessions together, we will uncover recurring patterns and unresolved wounds that still impact your daily life. We will then cultivate ways to help you experience healing by addressing underlying needs, shifting these stuck points, deepening your inner peace, and building a more compassionate relationship with yourself and with others. Through this process, my hope is that you will be able to move into a more emotionally connected and fulfilled living, that is intentional and meaningful.

Trainings & Certifications

To better support my clients, I have completed the following trainings over the past few years:

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) Level 1

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) Level 2

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Polyvagal Theory

Education & Clinical Background

I’ve always been passionate about cultivating relationships and helping others heal and grow, which is why I pursued my studies in psychology and psychotherapy. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and went on to earn my Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary San Diego.

My clinical journey began at San Diego Rescue Mission (SDRM) and Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health System (APIBHS) where I provided therapy to individuals, families, and groups dealing with challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, and more.

Upon graduation, I worked as a program therapist at Union of Pan Asian Communities’ Children and Adolescent Mental Health Program (UPAC CMH). I provided school and community based psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and transitional age youth with a wide range of mood disorders and behavioral problems. At UPAC, I also provided diagnostic screening, biopsychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, as well as case management services.

I’ve been working in the private practice setting since 2022.  I’ve been honored to walk alongside my clients as they work toward healing and transformation. I believe in the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment where you can be truly seen and heard.
